Setting: Before Chapter 1 The phones were ringing off the hook, faster than the young man and his younger secretary could take them off of the receiver. “Hello? Yes. Please hold.” It was just a mantra that he mumbled every time he heard that awful, terrible sound of the phone ringing. And the voice of the secretary. “Yes, I’m sorry, Mayor Taylor is very busy.
